Biography
David has been married to Ursi since 2000, and they live in Winterthur, Switzerland.
Life writes the stories, music is our shared passion. In our songs, we capture what moves us, what sustains us and what we hold on to. It is precisely the difficult phases and unplanned paths in life that have shaped our lyrics and sharpened our focus on what is essential. Because music begins where words alone are no longer enough.
David was born in 1975 and grew up in the Töss Valley near Winterthur.
The Technical Foundation
David’s professional career is technical by nature: following his apprenticeship as a machine mechanic at a long-standing railway company in Winterthur, he went on to specialise through a degree in Mechanical Engineering (HF) and a postgraduate diploma (NDS) in Quality Assurance. He has remained true to his roots and today brings his many years of experience to the quality assurance department of the very same company.
The Musical Journey
His musical journey began at an early age with the violin. As almost the entire family played the instrument, a "family orchestra" was practically inevitable. David played in the Winterthur Youth Orchestra until the age of 20. During his secondary school years, he added the piano, guitar, and bass to his repertoire. At 15, he recorded his first original songs on a 4-track cassette recorder. A defining highlight was his first major music project, funded by the Turbenthal school: recording his own songs in the studio of a well-known Swiss artist was an unforgettable experience. Over the last 35 years, more than 1,200 performances in various bands or as a solo artist have followed—featuring him on vocals, piano, bass, guitar, violin, or a combination thereof.
Fascination with Sound Engineering
Parallel to his music, David developed a passion for sound engineering. In his early professional years, this led to the founding of his own part-time studio, "Candle Recording." Instead of producing his own music, David spent this time realizing CDs for other artists, radio commercials, concerts, and podcasts for the NZZ. Eventually, the combination of his main job, the studio, music, and private life became too intense, leading him to sell the studio. However, he remained loyal to the craft: for nearly 15 years, he has accompanied the Nashville Rebels as their sound technician, working with state-of-the-art mixing systems on a wide variety of stages.
The Radio Career
Since its inception in 2008, Country Radio Switzerland has established itself as a cornerstone for country music fans. In 2022, founder David Bolli passed his passion project into new hands: a team of four friends—including David Haueter—has been steering the station's course ever since. Backed by a team of nearly 20 radio enthusiasts and reaching an impressive one million listeners per month, David serves as co-owner, overseeing audio engineering and radio programming.
Ursi
Ursi, born in Basel in 1973, is a trained sales assistant and healthcare specialist (FaBe). Today, she works as a social pedagogue. In their joint projects, she takes on the role of photographer and videographer. She is a passionate singer and can be heard and seen both on David's productions and live by his side as his vocal partner.
